Premature failure of mining machinery parts due to wear on small excavator bucket teeth increases the economic cost for mines. The bucket teeth of an excavator are used to dig into rock or soil, and their working conditions are extremely harsh. During operation, the bucket teeth not only undergo severe wear but also bear certain impact loads, resulting in a short service life and significant consumption.
From 2010 to 2014, the production of excavator bucket teeth in China increased year by year. In 2010, the production was 413,600 tons, and by 2014, it had increased to 650,000 tons, although the annual growth rate declined.
