(1) Stress Analysis: The working surface of the bucket teeth comes into contact with the material being excavated, and the stress conditions vary at different stages throughout the excavation process. When the tooth tip first contacts the material surface, due to its high velocity, the bucket tip experiences a strong impact. When the yield strength of the bucket teeth is low, plastic deformation may occur at its tip. As the excavation depth increases, the stress on the bucket teeth changes. When the bucket teeth cut through the material, they move relative to it, generating a significant normal compressive force on the material surface, which in turn produces a large friction force between the working surface of the bucket teeth and the material. If the material is hard rock, concrete, etc., the friction force will be substantial. The repeated action of this process causes varying degrees of surface wear on the working surface of the bucket teeth, leading to the formation of deep grooves. The normal pressure on the front working surface is significantly greater than that on the rear working surface, resulting in severe wear on the front working surface. It can be concluded that normal pressure and friction force are the main external mechanical factors affecting the failure of bucket teeth and play a crucial role in the failure process.
