During one revolution of the bucket wheel of a pointed-tooth excavator, it must complete three tasks: cutting, loading, and discharging. When cutting, the bucket teeth are required to quickly penetrate the material. For this purpose, the bucket must possess sufficient strength and rigidity to withstand the reaction force of the material. During the loading process, the material should flow smoothly into the bucket (which reduces cutting resistance). At the same time, as the material fills the bucket, it should occupy the bucket space fully without generating excessive compressive pressure. Otherwise, due to the increase in compressive pressure, the adhesion force between the bucket wall and the material will increase (at a certain adhesion coefficient, the adhesion force is proportional to the normal pressure between the two objects), leading to incomplete or scattered discharge of the material when discharging.
