Maintenance of Excavator Engines

Check the fuel tank level and add sufficient fuel as needed; inspect the fuel tank pipes, pipe joints, and filters, and eliminate any leaks if found; check the oil pan level by placing the machine in a horizontal position. When the oil is insufficient, the oil level should be between the oil sludge and the bottom line. If the oil level is too high, identify the cause and rectify the fault; inspect the oil pipes, pipe joints, and filters, and remove any leaks if found; check the oil-water separator and drain any accumulated water.

Inspect the cooling system air inlet and keep it open at all times. Remove any dust and impurities promptly.

Check the air inlet connections and eliminate any air leaks if found.

Clean the filter exhaust valve outlet. When the dust level in the dust collector reaches half, immediately remove the dust and clean the dust collector.

Check the tightness of the components and ensure that the connections are firm and reliable. Tighten any loose components to the specified torque.

Listen to the operation of the engine and related components. The engine should start quickly, run at a normal speed, and should be free of noise and smoking. If not, identify the cause and rectify the fault. During operation, check and tighten the cylinder head bolts and inspect the valve clearance irregularly every 50 hours. Adjust as required according to specifications.
